Amsterdam The Style Outlets is a future outlet center in Halfweg , between the cities of Haarlem and Amsterdam . It will be The Style Outlets’ first outlet in the Netherlands, and the first outlet center in the Randstad . It will become part of the post-industrial zone known as SugarCity , located on the former site of CSM’s sugar factory, which was closed in 1992 . The outlet center has an 'architectural design based on the Dutch landscape and tradition of water and stones’.

While the shopping street is emptying and fashion stores in particular are struggling, this Style Outlet will still open on Nov. 26th 2020 with stores from brands like Guess, Nike, O’Neill, Puma and Björn Borg. “Everything is going according to plan,” says director Marcel Herben. „Of course we have been bothered by the covid measures in between, but we are very happy that we can open just before the holidays.” Tenants have now been found for three-quarters of the 115 retail spaces in the clearance center in the former Halfweg sugar factory.

The outlet center mainly wants to attract people from the region, people who live roughly half an hour by car from Halfweg. “It concerns 2.5 million potential visitors. We are the first outlet center in the Randstad and the most accessible in the country. We are two stops from Amsterdam Central and 10 minutes from Schiphol. ”
